Volunteer For a Town Board

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Westborough.

It's Wednesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1.  Volunteer for a town board.

The following town boards need members, selectmen said Tuesday night:

  • 300th Anniversary Committee: six members
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee: one member
  • Conservation Commission: one non-voting associate
  • Country Club Operating Committee: one non-voting associate
  • Historical Commission: one member, two non-voting associates
  • Housing Partnership Committee: one member
  • Open Space Preservation Committee: one member
  • Recreation Commission: one non-voting associate
  • Taxation Aid Committee: three members
  • Water Resource Review Committee: seven members
Letters of interest and resumes should be sent to: Board of Selectmen, Town Hall, 34 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581.

2.  Learn about Caribbean resorts.

Travel Solutions in Westborough presents a free "Sandals and Beaches Caribbean Night" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Tatnuck Bookseller Event Room. 
 
3. Learn about special needs.

A “Special Needs Planning: Complex Problems, Simple
Solutions" workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston-Westborough. Admission is free.

4. Root for the Rangers.

Here is Wednesday's Westborough High School sports schedule:

  • Varsity gymnastics: vs. Hudson, at Mass. Gymnastics Academy Center, 7:30 p.m.
5. In case you missed it: Armed suspects hit a Westborough mobile home on Monday night.

The suspects stole cash, cell phones and identification during the incident at 165 Turnpike Road, police said in a press release
