Special Needs Planning:Complex Problems, Simple Solutions

One in four families cope with having a family member who has been
diagnosed with mental illness/special needs. These families face special
challenges when planning for the future. Many families worry about what
will happen to their loved one after they die. Planning for the future
is essential. However, families with a member with special needs also
face increased financial and emotional pressures due to the stress of
caring for that individual.

“Special Needs Planning: Complex Problems, Simple
Solutions” is a two hour workshop at the Double Tree Hotel in
Westoborugh, MA, that will cover case studies of families with members
with mental illness, intellectual disabilities and physical
disabilities. The workshop will discuss strategies for gaining and
maintaining eligibility for government benefits, important issues around
special needs financial planning and a discussion of vales based
decision making.

The event is sponsored by the Westborough Special
Education Advisory Council (SEPAC), Metrowest National Alliance on
Mental Illness (NAMI) and Advocates. Michael Scott, CRPC of Waymark
Wealth Management and David Guarino Esq. and Elise Kopley Esq. of
Fletcher Tilton will be presenting at the Double Tree Hotel in
Westborough.
