Selectmen to Discuss Tax Rate

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Westborough.

It's Tuesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Westborough selectmen will discuss the tax rate.

The board's annual tax classification public hearing is at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at the Forbes Municipal Building.

2. The Westborough School Committee's budget discussions continue.

The board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Westborough TV studio, 30 Lyman St. The budgets to be discussed are: transportation, facilities, administration, school committee, revolving accounts, and curriculum and staff development.

3. In case you missed it: the Profilo Day Spa is supporting the Westborough Food Pantry.

The spa's third annual Black Monday Event for the food pantry is from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2 at 30 Lyman St.

4. First United Methodist Church of Westborough families honored parents Sunday night.

The Parents Appreciation Dinner saw 49 students prepare and serve a spaghetti dinner, "and then read letters of thanks to their parents," Pastor John Wesley Taylor posted on the church's Facebook page

"Honor your Mother and Father is one of the commandments found in Exodus 20 and that is what happened last night," he wrote.
