WHS Student Movement Supports Fight Against Cancer

The Rangers For a Cure ran a sand art fundraiser at Thursday's Westborough Farmers' Market.

Thursday, the fight against cancer took the form of sand art created by youngsters visiting the Westborough Farmers' Market.

A new Westborough High School student movement offered the activity.

The Rangers For a Cure began forming toward the end of the last school year, said junior Elizabeth Gallary, the group's president.

Students were inspired by loved ones who have cancer, she said.

Thursday, youngsters could create small sand art for $1, and large sand art for $2,

"It was a good way to raise money, because the little kids really like the sand art, and the parents see that it's for a good cause," junior Rebecca Siegal said.
