Note Found at WHS on Wednesday

Police and the high school administration are both investigating the incident, School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor said.

Westborough Police were at Westborough High School on Thursday because a threatening note was found in a lobby bathroom Wednesday.

"The note was specifically geared to (Thursday) and a mention of a potential threat to the school environment," School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor told the school committee Wednesday night.

School officials contacted police -- "(Westborough Police Chief) Al Gordon happened to be in my office when we got the call, so it was an immediate response," -- and officers and school administrators did a sweep of the building, O'Connor said.

An overnight plan for school security was developed, she said.

"I think the three administrators did a great job," O'Connor said.

"They had everything buttoned up by the time five o'clock came around."

Police and the high school administration are both investigating the incident, O'Connor said.
