Shrewsbury Resident Allegedly Kidnapped, Then Raped in Westborough

The incidents allegedly happened Friday.

A Shrewsbury resident was "kidnapped by an acquaintance" last Friday and then sexually assaulted twice in Westborough -- first near the CVS Pharmacy on East Main Street, then on Gleason Street, Westborough Police said Monday.

The victim escaped at Flynn's Truck Stop on Route 20 in Shrewsbury, entering the store, where Shrewsbury Police arrested her alleged assailant, Westborough Police said in a press release.

Shrewsbury Police notified Westborough Police of the incident on Saturday. Westborough Police Detective LeeAnn Baker then investigated.

Westborough Police charged Kyle G. Thomas, 54, of 114 Lovells Lane, Marstons Mills, with three counts of aggravated rape, and one count each of: violation of a restraining order; kidnapping; operating after suspension; driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense; marked lanes violation; operating so as to endanger; assault and battery; and threatening to commit murder.

Westborough Patch will update this story with the Shrewsbury charges when they become available.

Thomas was arraigned Monday in Westborough District Court on complaints from both towns, Westborough Police said.
