Well hello there, and nice to meet you! My name is Tara Rogers and I'm happy to be a part of the Northborough Patch bloggers. This is new to me, but sounded like a fun way to get to know more people in the community.

When I'm not blogging, I am the Co-owner and Director of Skribbles Learning Center, here in town. My partner is my sister and we have a great time at work. Feel free to check out our website and Facebook page for more information. We have been in Northborough for 10 years now and cared for many children from Northborough and surrounding towns.

As for my personal life, well, I live in Shrewsbury with my husband Jim and our two boys. Jesse is 11 years old and attends the Sherwood Middle School and Jason is 9 years old and is a student of Paton Elementary school. My boys are very active in ice hockey, therefore, we live at the rink for 9 months of the year. Yup, we're rink rats! Jesse plays for Shrewsbury PeeWees and Jason plays for the Jr Sharks Elite AAA team. My boys are also active in Scouting and I contribute as an assitant leader and Event Coordinator for our pack.

I am an animal lover and honestly cannot ever remember living without a furry friend. I currently have two dogs that we've adopted through rescue leagues. It's a great way to help those in need and acquire a best friend. Parker, our Golden Retriever came from the Memphis Golden Retriever Rescue Group in Tennesee and Tanner, our Chocolate Lab came from Good Dog Rescue in Arkansas. Both are great organizations and I strongly encourage anyone looking for a pet to go through rescue groups!

Another organzation that is close to my heart is the Fresh Air Fund. This organization brings low income children from NYC into the suburbs where they can experience a summer vacation they otherwise would not have. We met our Fresh Air boy, Kiari through this organization and he has now become a member of our family. Kiari was able to come and ride bikes, take a walk, learn to swim and do so in the safety of our streets. It was an eye opening experience for my whole family. If you're looking to share your home with a great kid, check out this organization.

Well, that's pretty much me in a nutshell! I'm sure I'll think of more, but we'll save those for the blogs.

Talk soon...
