Westborough school officials are advertising for an owner's project manager will be hired for a potential Gibbons Middle School renovation project. The advertisement will run in the Massachusetts Central Register next week, school committee Vice Chairman Stephen Doret said Wednesday night. The technical High School has received $33.1 million from the state and a visit from State Treasurer and MSBA Chairman Steven Grossman.
The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School has received $33.1 million towards needed repairs and upgrades while officials praised the school. "There is no better institution in our area than this school. The Superintendent and staff use all of their resources well, and there is no limit to what these students can achieve," said State Treasurer and Massachusetts School Building Authority Chairman Steven Grossman before signing a facsimile of the check to the schools last week. Westborough school officials today take the next step toward pursuing a Gibbons Middle School renovation project. The school committee will vote to authorize Chairman Ilyse Levine-Kanji to sign a feasibility study agreement with the Massachusetts School Building Authority. The 2:30 p.m. meeting is in the Forbes Municipal Building. Levine-Kanji said Thursday night that voters at the spring town meeting approved $158,000 to begin this next phase, which includes hiring an architect and owner's project manager.
