Storm Update Issued by Weather Service

The evening commute might be affected by the weather.

  At 1:30 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) in Taunton updated its winter storm warning for south central Massachusetts, including Westborough. The warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Snow will continue through the afternoon, said the NWS. Total accumulations are expected to be between 6 and 12 inches. The snow is expected to taper off in the early evening. Weather Service Updates Storm Warning

Drivers are cautioned about potential ice.

  In a statement issued at 3 p.m. on Feb. 29, the National Weather Service (NWS) winter storm warning issued for Wednesday at noon remains in effect until 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 1. The warning covers central Massachusetts, including Westborough. Heavy snow, with accumulations of 8 to 12 inches, is possible. In addition, there could be up to an inch of ice. The snow is expected to fall heavily through the evening and again on Thursday morning, reported NWS. If possible, stay off the roads. UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning Issued

Heavy, wet snow could bring down tree limbs.

UPDATE: Saturday, Oct. 29 - At 12:59 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) in Taunton updated the Winter Storm Watch which is in effect from 4 p.m. today to 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. The warning covers western and central Massachusetts and includes the Westborough area. The new expected snowfall amount is four to eight inches of snow, with Westborough expected to get the lower amount. Snow will be heavy and wet and there will be strong winds. The precipitation is expected to begin as rain and quickly change to snow. NWS reported that the snow could fall heavily at times with one to two inches per hour possible. UPDATE: Warning Predicts 4 to 8 Inches Today Before Bigger Blast Tomorrow

Today's snow will be a prelude to tomorrow's dumping, predicts the National Weather Service.

UPDATE: Tuesday, Feb. 1, 3:47 a.m. ­­– The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Boston remains in effect until 1 a.m. on Thursday. The warning covers western and north central Massachusetts, including Westborough. It also extends into southern New Hampshire and interior Essex County in Massachusetts. Heavy snow is expected during the period with possible accumulations of 4 to 8 inches today and an additional 8 to 12 inches tonight and tomorrow. Drivers are cautioned that roads will become snow covered and slippery. UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning in Effect

Residents cautioned about downed tree limbs and power outages.

UPDATE 2:58 p.m. – The National Weather Service in Boston has updated the Winter Storm Warning for portions of northern Connecticut as well as southwest and south central Massachusetts, including the Westborough area. The Winter Storm Warning is now in effect until 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18. Freezing rain is expected across the region, an area that has already seen an accumulation of 2 to 6 inches of snow during the current storm. A quarter to one half inch of ice accumulation is possible in the early evening hours. The freezing rain is expected to taper off by midnight.
