The Westborough Senior Center served up some lunch and thanks at annual Veterans Day Luncheon.

On Thursday, Nov. 10, the Westborough Senior Center hosted its annual luncheon honoring veterans. Westborough Patch was there and shares this series of photos which includes names and service of some of Westborough's veterans. American Troops stationed in Afghanistan show their appreciation to Boy Scout Troop 382.

What started out as a typical meeting of Boy Scout Troop 382 on Tuesday, Nov. 8, quickly escalated into something exceptional when Scoutmaster Frank Yeung announced that their first order of business was a presentation by a surprise special guest. The guest was Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 9013 Commander Ed Donnelly who was eager to present the Troop with a plaque from Army “A” Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment in appreciation for over 120 care packages sent to them last December while the Battalion was stationed in Afghanistan serving in Operation Enduring Freedom. Donnelly thanked the boys on behalf of the Battalion and the VFW, all the while carefully peeling a protective plastic layer off the plaque to …

Morning Ceremonies Scheduled on Veterans Day

Several state dignitaries will be in Westborough for morning events.

The public is invited to take part in Westborough ceremonies commemorating Veterans Day 2011. Starting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, dignitaries, veterans and musicians will proceed through a scheduled salute that includes wreath laying, music and prayer at four locations in downtown Westborough. Among the dignitaries scheduled to attend are Sen. Jamie Eldridge, D-Middlesex and Worcester; Rep. Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston; and Rep. Matt Beaton, R-Shrewsbury. The Grand Marshalls for the event are Westborough residents and US Army veterans Paul M. Horrigan of Chestnut Street and Robert P. Sylvester of Gary Circle. Master of Ceremonies is Ken Ferrera. On Friday, Nov. 11, the Town of Westborough will honor veterans, past and present.
