Day Spa Owner Helping Son's Chess Club With Check

Katia Lisita will donate all of this Tuesday's proceeds to help the club attend a national tournament.

Katia Lisita has time this Tuesday for three more eyebrow waxings, and no more facials by her. The owner of Westborough’s KaLis Day Spa then hopes to write a check for at least $1,000. To help the chess club at Ponce de Leon Middle School in Miami, Fla. Attend the United States Chess Federation’s Supernationals Chess Tournament in Nashvlle, Tenn. On April 5 to April 7. Lisita says her son, Rodrigo Barbosa, teaches special needs at the school, and said, “Mom, I need help. Do you think you can ask your clients?’” “I said, ‘How about if I give one whole day of my work to help you?’” she said Thursday. Lisita said she hopes to raise $1,000 toward the team’s goal of $3,000 to $4,000. The team includes about eight kids, ages 8 to 14, she said…
