Voters will get the budget at the March 16 annual town meeting.
Westborough Town Manager Jim Malloy presented a $79,299,038 budget proposal to selectmen Tuesday night, a 3 percent increase from current spending. The request is a level services town budget except for an estimated $11,000 to provide "the same, but better" emergency notification service as Reverse 911 when that ends in July, Malloy told the board at Westborough Town Hall. Westborough Town Manager Jim Malloy will present his proposed budget and capital plan to selectmen Tuesday night. The presentation is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. at Westborough Town Hall. The Westborough School Committee voted Dec. 19 to seek a 3.07 percent budget increase next year, which is less than the 3.67 percent initially recommended by Superintendent Marianne O'Connor. The $42,694,208 request does not include a new school transportation fee. Malloy is scheduled to review his budget with the advisory finance committee at 7:10 p.m. next Monday, Jan. 14 at town hall.
