The cause is under investigation.
Dozens were evacuated from the Chateau after an outside bark mulch fire reached the front of the Westborough restaurant tonight. Westborough firefighters received a 911 call from the Italian family restaurant at 7:07 p.m. saying there was “smoke in the restaurant and it seemed to be coming from the cellar," Capt. Firefighters found the smoke, and “found a bark mulch fire outside just by the front door, and it had extended into the wall of the front of the restaurant," Rand said. Dozens of people were at the restaurant at the time, he said. No injuries were reported. The restaurant is "closed until further notice," Rand said. The fire's cause is under investigation, he said.
