Frozen Yogurt Store Set to Open in June

The downtown location is now taking applications for employment.

  Fruitti Cup, a frozen yogurt store, is scheduled to open on June 1. The store is located at 31 South Street, between Sabatini’s Restaurant and TJ Farm convenience store. South Street Gets Smooth Surface This Week

The DPW announced the paving schedule for South Street.

Information provided by the DPW.   Weather permitting, the paving of South Street will get underway beginning tomorrow, according to the Westborough Department of Public Works (DPW). The schedule calls for paving on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. If rain becomes an issue, the schedule will be pushed back a day. The hired contractor is Borges Construction. The company is to begin paving at the rotary and proceed south on South Street. On the first day of work, South Street will be closed from the rotary to School Street. On the second day, South Street will be closed from School Street to Denny Street. On the third day, the road will be open and paving will move from Denny Street to Upton Road. A View of South Street, Then and Now

Photos show the changes of this Westborough block over the past century.

Happy Monday, Patchers! The photo above should be familiar to everyone. It is a view of South Street from the rotary. The building on the right, where Faris Farm Flowers is located today, is the C.S. Henry block - mentioned briefly in Then and Now: Central Block and Westborough Package Store. Originally, two others buildings stood in this location, known as the S.G. Henry Building and the Eagle Block, but both buildings were destroyed by fire in 1873. According to The History of Westborough, Massachusetts: Part 1, the new C.S. Henry Block was constructed within that same year. In front of the C.S. Henry Block, you will see a fountain in the road where a horse may be drinking some water.
