Mite Gold 2 Wins Playoff Opener

They play the first place Junior Crusaders on Saturday.

Daniel Bousch, J.J. Monteiro and Nolan Yusikones all scored twice as Triboro Youth Hockey Mite Gold 2 defeated Medfield Mite 2, 8-1, in Triboro's playoff opener at the NorthStar Youth Forum on Saturday night. Bousch scored the game-winner for Triboro, which also saw Ethan Cox and Quinn Salvi score. Jake Dapolite was Mite Gold 2's goalie. Mite Gold 2 next plays the first-place Junior Crusaders this Saturday at NorthStar.

Today, we answer this emailed inquiry: When will the NorthStar Youth Forum's new rink open? NorthStar anticipates breaking ground either Feb. 11 or Feb. 18, Executive Director Denise Marco said today. The $4 million Rink C project is expected to open Labor Day weekend, she said. A Nov. 30 grand opening is planned. “It’s going to expand our current programs, and to allow new programs to come in,” Marco said. “We’ve pretty much exhausted every inch of ice. So, we have to do it.”
