Summer whale watching program available to students next week.
Each morning, Westborough Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, reminders and odd little ditties to help you organize your day. The Hot Summer Nights program, for students entering grades 6 to 10, features a whale watching trip on Wednesday, July 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A bus will pick up and drop off students at Gibbons Middle School. Hot Summer Nights is now in its 16th year! The summer program is designed for kids going into grades 6 through 10. Coordinated by Westborough’s own Lizzy Sricharoenchaikit, many of the programs are offered at little to no cost. No one will be refused participation due to an inability to pay. Westborough Youth & Family Services kicks off its 2012 Hot Summer Nights (HSN) program with a free Ice Cream Giveaway on Tuesday, June 19at 11:15 a.m. outside the Forbes Municipal Building, 45 West Main St. At the same time, there will also be a Teen Summer Reading Book Giveaway at the Westborough Public Library next door. HSN is a summer activities program organized for kids in grades 6 through10 (ages 10 to 16), hosting a number of events this summer including: 3on3 Basketball on Friday, June 22: 6 to 9 p.m. at Gibbons Middle School gymnasium. Westborough kids are heading to Shrewsbury for some extreme bowling tomorrow evening.
