Where's the cheapest gas in Westborough?
Gas prices in Massachusetts are up another four cents since last week, AAA Southern New England said today. Prices remain 31 cents higher than a month ago, according to the agency's weekly price survey. The average self-serve prices are: regular, $3.76 per gallon; midgrade, $3.90 and premium, $4.04. According to Patch's Commute feature, the three lowest prices for regular in Westborough are: $3.66, Westboro Sunoco, 49 Milk St.; $3.81, Mobil, 130 Turnpike Road; and $3.87, Gulf on the Mass Pike. Here are the lowest prices in Westborough.
Motorists are paying about 31 cents more for a gallon of gas than they were one month ago, AAA Southern New England says. The not-for-profit auto club's latest Monday price survey had self-serve regular in Massachusetts averaging $3.72 per gallon, up four cents from last week. Self-serve midgrade is averaging $3.88 per gallon, and self-serve premium is averaging $4.01 per gallon, AAA said in a press release. Today, Patch's gas price tracker shows the lowest price in Westborough for regular at Gulf, on the Mass Pike westbound, at $3.78 per gallon. Mobil, at 130 Turnpike Road, is charging $3.80 per gallon. Filling up is costing motorists in Massachusetts, including Westborough, about 14 cents per gallon more than last week, AAA Southern New England says. The agency's latest weekly survey Monday showed self-serve regular averaging $3.59, with a range of $3.49 to $3.79. Self-serve mid-grade is averaging $3.79, while self-serve premium is averaging $3.90. Gas prices in the area have increased by 20 cents over the past month.
The lower gas price of a month ago is now just a memory as regular gas prices have increased by 20 cents over the past month in the Boston area. The average regular gallon of gas is $3.80 today in the Boston area compared to $3.60 just a month ago. Mid-range gas is now $3.94 compared to $3.76 from a month ago and premium has increased to $4.07 from $3.88, according to AAA. Closer to home, there are at least three stations charging at or slightly above the area average. Mobil, at 130 Turnpike Road, has regular gas at $3.80. Shell, at 27 East Main St., is $3.81. Some analysts have predicted that gas prices could escalate to $5 a gallon by the summer. So who or what are you blaming?
Gas prices are going up, in case you haven't noticed. Even a smaller, more fuel-efficient car costs over $40 smackers to fill these days. And analysts are predicting we haven't seen the worst of it. AAA Southern New England reported, according to the Boston Globe, that regular gas prices have risen another nickel this week, making a jump in price for the 11th consecutive week. The average, according to the article, is $3.73 a gallon, which means it's 24 cents more than a month ago and 29 cents higher than last year at this time. Westborough gas prices span a 16 cent range in town this afternoon, from a high of $3.559 to a low of $3.399. Despite the fluctuation, the average cash price in Westborough for regular unleaded gas remains above the state average as reported by AAA Southern New England. AAA’s Oct. 24 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.429 per gallon, matching last week.
