8 Confirmed Flu Cases in Westborough So Far

No new town-sponsored clinics are planned, because the vaccine isn't available.

Westborough has had eight laboratory confirmed cases of the flu in January, compared to 16 for all of 2012, town Sanitarian Steven Baccari says. The 2013 figure includes three today, Baccari said. No town-sponsored public health clinics are planned because the vaccine isn't available, he said. Health officials administered about 150 doses during its Nov. 29 clinic at the Westborough Senior Center, Baccari said. Community members should contact their primary care physician, and places such as CVS, regarding the vaccine's availability, he said. According to HealthMap's Flu Vaccine Finder, Westborough locations offering the vaccine include CVS, 74 East Main St.; Stop & Shop Pharmacy, 32 Lyman St.; Passport Health Westborough, 1900 West Park …

Here's where to get an influenza vaccine, how to recognize symptoms and what to know about treatment if you get sick.

Flu season is coming early in parts of the United States: This time last year, flu cases were lower in Westborough than they are now, according to data on Google's Flu Trends. (Westborough-specific data is not available on Flu Trends.)
