Westborough Pays Tribute to Officer John "Jack" Maguire
Flags lowered to half staff this afternoon.
At 6:30 a.m., several Westborough police officers left town to pay tribute to a fallen comrade. They joined more than 2,000 officers who paid tribute today to Woburn Police Officer John "Jack" Maguire. McGuire, 60, was shot and killed Sunday night in an attempted armed robbery of a Kohl's Department Store. Police officers from around New England and as far away as British Columbia arrived for the funeral procession. The service took place at Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington. Flags were lowered to half staff at the Westborough Police Department, Westborough Fire Department and Rotary in honor of Officer Maguire, a 34-year police veteran.
