Hundreds of area children participated.
When volunteers said "go," hundreds of children charged out onto a field of Easter eggs and plucked them from the snow. In total, the Chapel of the Cross filled 15,000 plastic easter eggs with candy. Associate Pastor David Pranga said the event creates awareness for the church and is an opportunity to give back to the community. "We really like having here and it is a chance to do something nice for everyone," Pranga said. Also at the event were settings of various religious scenes, free popcorn, hot dogs and face painting. This is the fourth year the Chapel of the Cross has hosted this event.

Westborough's Chapel of the Cross will offer a 'Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage' seminar on Saturday.
Chapel of the Cross visitors on Saturday will laugh their hearts out, many of them next to the person who stole their heart. The “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” seminar will cover four main topics, Associate Pastor David Pranga says: “The Tale of Two Brains”, “Why Does He/She Do That?”, “The Number One Key to Incredible Sex” and “How to Stay Married and Not Kill Anybody.” Featuring facilitators and a DVD, the session runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the church, which is hosting the program for the first time. “We just really believe that marriage is really important, and we all want a better marriage,” Pranga says. “This is just a seminar on helping people better communicate with each other and to understand each …

The Andy Needham Band has an album release event here Sunday.
Andy Needham and his three bandmates release their first Christian music CD in Westborough on Sunday. That's the latest sign that music no longer is a hobby for them, Needham says. "Last year and starting this year, this is something that we've put all of our chips in," he says. "We were getting to the point where we were doing four or five events a month. That's when a hobby gets a little dangerous. Last year, we did 50 events. This year, we did 150 events." The Andy Needham Band will hold a worship night and album release event for "Lifted High" at 6 p.m. Sunday at Westborough's Chapel of the Cross. Grammy Award-winner Mitch Dane produced the CD. Nate Parks from Camp Berea, "the leading youth organization in New England right now," will …

An afternoon of dance at a Westborough church will help a family in need.

So says Martha Convers, a Zumba instructor who is inviting the public to join in a community-wide Zumba-thon on Saturday, June 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Chapel of the Cross, 160 Flanders Rd. The event is a fundraiser for a group of local teens that will head to Mexico this summer to build a home for a family in need. “It’s an exhilarating workout, a fun workout,” Convers told Westborough Patch. “I lost 50 pounds doing [Zumba]…we workout, have fun and make a party of each class.” Convers is one of seven Zumba instructors who will lead the dance on Saturday. Money raised will be used to help fund 31 people from the student ministries program at Chapel of the Cross. The group, led by Director …

Frolic with the bunny, enjoy an egg hunt, visit the library or donate candy.
Westborough is buzzing for the bunny this week. Here are five Easter activities that we found in town this week. Do you know of more? Tell us in the comments below! 1. Among the new arrivals at the Westborough Public Library is Here Comes Peter Cottontail! by Steve Nelson, from Candy Cane Press. According to Wowbrary.com, “Illustrations tell the story of Peter Cottontail's preparations as he rises on Easter morning, loads his cart, and hides his treats for the children. Joy abounds when the children go outside to discover that Peter had been there.” 2.
