Fire Department Offers Free Car Seat Checks

In 2010, technicians secured 410 safety seats.

According to Westborough Fire Chief Nick Perron, 410 car seats were installed or checked by the department during 2010. “The Westborough Fire Department has gained much recognition as being one of the most active and reliable check points in Central Massachusetts,” Perron reported in the 2010 Annual Town Report. The free service is part of the Child Passenger Safety Program. Trained technicians in the department will install car seats, or check the safety of the current installation, to make sure the seats safely harness a child. To schedule a free child seat safety check, call the Westborough Fire Department at 508-366-3040.
