Coughlin said Saturday's event will feature two sessions with these components, all on Rink C: Learn to Skate classes, figure skating exhibitions, and open skating

The first session is: Learn to Skate classes, 11 a.m.; figure skating club exhibitions, 11:30 a.m.; and public skating, 11:45 a.m.

"After we have our Learn to Skaters out, we have a great audience to exhibit what a lot of hours and dedication will turn out," Coughlin said.

The second session starts with Learn to Skate classes at 1:30 p.m.

Registration for the Learn to Skate classes will start about an hour before.

There also will be refreshments, and a DJ at the event.

"Weather permitting, we have a huge inflatable shootout that the Worcester Sharks is bringing in for the parking lot," Coughlin said.

Meanwhile, Rink A will host hockey events.

There will be two 50-minute blocks -- 11 to 11:50 a.m., and noon to 12:50 a.m. -- for "full equipment for mite to pee wee age hockey players" to do such activities as obstacle courses, races, and cross-ice scrimmages, Coughlin said.

"Open parent-child stick time" will follow the second session, she said.
