Westborough Boards Seek Volunteers

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Westborough.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1.  Volunteer for a Westborough board.

These town boards need members, according to Westborough's website:

  • 300th Anniversary Committee: nine members
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee: one member
  • Conservation Commission: one non-voting associate member
  • Country Club Operating Committee: one non-voting associate member
  • Historical Commission: one member, one non-voting associate member
  • Housing Partnership Committee: one member
  • Open Space Preservation Committee: one member
  • Recreation Commission: one non-voting associate member
  • Westborough Taxation Aid Committee: three members
  • Water Resource Review Committee: seven members
Letters of interest, and resumes, should be sent to: Board of Selectmen, Westborough Town Hall, 34 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581.

2.  Attend the Westborough Town Hall silent auction.

It's from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

3. Attend a health and wellness expo.

The Westboro Tennis and Swim Club holds its 9th Annual Local Business Health Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

4. Root for the Rangers.

Here is Monday's Westborough High School sports schedule:

  • JV boys basketball: at Algonquin, noon.
  • Freshman boys basketball: at Algonquin, 1:30 p.m.
  • Freshman girls basketball: vs. Algonquin, 1:30 p.m.
  • JV girls basketball: vs. Algonquin, 3 p.m.
  • Varsity ice hockey: vs. Fitchburg, at Wallace Civic Center, 3 p.m.
  • Varsity girls basketball: vs. Algonquin, 4:30 p.m.
  • Varsity boys basketball: vs. Algonquin, 6 p.m.

5. Westborough students return from winter break.

Classes resume Thursday.
