Learn About EEE, West Nile From Expert

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University will host a free talk on July 16.

Concerns about the potential for Eastern Equine Encephalitis, West Nile Virus and other mosquito-borne illnesses are starting to appear.

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton announced Monday that it will host a free talk, "What You Can Do to Reduce Mosquito-Related Health Risks," from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 in the school's Agnes Varis Auditorium.

Cummings School Professor Sam Telford III and Grafton Health Agent Lois Luniewicz will present the talk, school officials said in a press release. Telford is an infectious disease expert.

Monday, a reader asked on Westborough Patch's Facebook page, "Do you know if the town in planning to spray for mosquitoes?"

"We are experiencing an influx of mosquitoes over on Arch St(reet) this year," she wrote.

"I would love to know more."

The Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project has said it will be in Westborough to investigate residents' complaints on July 3, July 10,  July 11, July 17, July 18,  July 24, July 25, July 31 and Aug. 1.

Residents may call the project with complaints from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
