WHS Boys Soccer Earns High 5 in Opener

The Rangers (1-0) are off until 3:30 p.m. Friday, when they travel to Nashoba.

The Westborough High School varsity boys soccer team opened its season Tuesday night with a high five.

On the scoreboard.

Westborough defeated host Grafton, 5-0, head coach John Hillier said.

Six Rangers had points, led by senior Jamie Plowman, who recorded two goals and an assist, Hillier said.

Senior tri-captain Carter Reynolds scored a goal -- "off a direct kick 35 yards out" -- and earned an assist, Hillier said.

Senior Ethan Peterson and junior Charlie Buress each scored once, while senior Carlos Macario and junior Chase Taylor each earned an assist, Hillier said.

Sophomore keeper Griffin Barry earned five saves in the shutout.
