WHS Boys LAX Gets Post-Season Foe

The Rangers open the state tournament Wednesday at Tyngsborough.

The Westborough High School varsity boys lacrosse team has drawn Tyngsborough for its post-season opener.

Tyngsborough will host the Rangers in a 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Lacrosse Central Division 2 first round game at 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the tournament bracket.

The winner advances to the quarter finals against Wednesday's Leominster-St. John's first round winner. The quarter final has not been scheduled.

Westborough, Tyngsborough and St. John's all received preliminary round byes in the 17-team tournament.

Westborough is seeded ninth. The Rangers finished the regular season with a 10-8 record. Tyngsborough (14-5) is seeded eighth. St. John's (15-3) is seeded first. Leominster (9-9) is seeded last.
