Westborough High School's winter sports teams are preparing to open their seasons, some this week.
Here are the dates of the varsity season openers, and the home openers for those Rangers teams starting on the road, courtesy of www.mwlma.org.
- Girls basketball: 6 p.m. Thursday, vs. St. Bernard's.
- Boys basketball: 7 p.m. Thursday, at St. Bernard's (home opener is 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, vs. Wachusett)
- Swimming/diving: 4 p.m. Friday, vs. Nashoba, at Clark University. (home opener is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Clark).
- Indoor track: 9 a.m. Saturday, at Wachusett, in the Wallace Invitational (All indoor track meets are away).
- Ice hockey: 5:20 p.m. Saturday, vs. TBA, in the Boys Varsity Jamboree at NorthStar Ice Sports (home opener is at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 vs. Wachusett at NorthStar).
- Gymnastics: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Hudson (home opener is at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, vs. Marlborough, at the Mass Gymnastics Academy Center).
- Alpine skiing: 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in a league meet at Ski Ward Hill (All alpine skiing meets are away).
