Rangers Girls Soccer Tops in Tourney Bracket

At 2 p.m. Sunday, Westborough will host the winner of Friday's Marlborough-Tantasqua first-round game.

The Westborough High School varsity girls soccer team officially is the team to beat in the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Central Division 1 Tournament.

The Rangers (15-1-2) are the top seed in the 10-team bracket, earning a first-round bye and advancing to the quarterfinals.

At 2 p.m. Sunday, Westborough will host the winner of Friday's Marlborough-Tantasqua first-round game. Sunday's winner advances to the semi-finals against the winner of Monday night's Groton-Dunstable and Wachusett quarterfinal.

Marlborough (6-6-6) is seeded ninth. Tantasqua (9-9-0) is seeded eighth. Groton-Dunstable (8-5-3) is seeded fifth. Wachusett (9-3-6) is seeded fourth. Groton-Dunstable and Wachusett earned first-round byes.
