Westborough Inn Getting New Owners

Tuesday night, selectmen approved a lodging house/innholder license for East American Inn, doing business as the Westborough Inn.

The Westborough Inn is getting new owners for the first time in 14 years.

East American Inn Inc. doesn't plan to renovate the inn, at 4 Boardman St., company President Xiaonan Liu told selectmen Tuesday night.

Selectmen approved a lodging house/innholder license for East American Inn, doing business as the Westborough Inn.

The 25-room inn had been available for $1,099,000, according to http://westboroughinnforsale.com.

Avoca Realty Trust bought the site from Westborough Inn Realty Trust Inc. for $865,000 on June 29, 1998, according to online assessors records,

In a Nov. 4 letter, Liu told selectmen the new owners "will offer 25 tastefully finished guestrooms each with private bath and HD TV, a coffee room, an oversized lounging area with a full kitchen, dining area, sitting areas with wide screen TV, pool table, exercise room and laundry room."

"The guests will also appreciate the complimentary continental breakfast and Wi-Fi," Liu wrote.
