Trivia Bee Seeks to Answer Some School Needs

The Westborough Education Foundation Trivia Bee is at 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston-Westborough.

An event Monday night involving 36 teams seeks to answer some Westborough public school needs.

The Westborough Education Foundation Trivia Bee is at 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston-Westborough. Tickets are $5, with a $20 family cap.

The proceeds will fund grants for teachers in the Westborough schools, foundation President Maureen Johnson said Thursday in an e-mail interview.

Organizers hope to exceed the 2012 bee, which raised more than $17,000, Johnson said.

Monday night's fundraiser will involve 36 teams, each with three members, sponsored by community groups and businesses, she said.

Six rounds of trivia will be held, with six teams per round. The winners of the rounds will compete in the final round.

"Last year,  between a few trivia rounds, we added kids trivia and entertainment provided by Matt Travis from Athletic Revolution," Johnson said.

"Getting the younger children actively involved in the Trivia Bee was a big hit.  There is no school the following day which helps bring people out on a weeknight.  It is truly a family friendly community event."

A raffle and silent auction will be held as well.
