The Westborough Education Foundation's event is Monday night.

An upcoming fundraiser will answer some of the most trivial questions.

To help the Westborough public schools address needs.

The Westborough Education Foundation's fifth Trivia Bee is at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. Admission is $5, with a $15 family cap, which covers pizza, dessert and a beverage, board member Linda Townsend said Thursday. Additional refreshments, as well as raffles, will be available as well.

The event typically raises about $15,000, which the foundation disperses during its grant cycle, which starts in January, Townsend said. Grants are awarded in early spring. Team sponsorships contribute to the $15,000, Townsend said.

The trivia bee is the foundation's first since 2010, Townsend said. A scheduling conflict with Westborough's fall 2011 special town meeting kept the bee from happening last year.

Monday night's event will involve 36 three-player teams answering six rounds of questions asked by Joe Harrington, Townsend said. Each round's winner will compete in the final round.

The fundraiser will add a kid-friendly facet this year, Townsend said.

Fales Elementary School physical education teacher Matthew Travis will ask kids trivia questions between rounds.
