Police are stationed at each Westborough school this morning, part of the schools' and the town's response to Friday's mass shooting at , Superintendent Marianne O'Connor said today.
O'Connor said she, Police Chief Alan Gordon and the school administrators developed that plan over the weekend.
"As soon as we were made a aware of the tragedy, we put an action plan into place," she said.
School officials sent families a ConnectED message this weekend "with resource links that may assist them in discussing the situation with their children," O'Connor said.
Also, "school support personnel have developed age appropriate scripts to address student concerns as needed. School psychologists, guidance counselors, and other support personnel are prepared to assist. Building staff will be meeting to review all intruder protocol and taking additional precautions to monitor the security of our schools," she said.
"As you can well imagine, for educators or for anyone working with children the recent event in Newtown, CT is unimaginable," O'Connor said.
"So many families have been affected by this horrific tragedy. We will be focusing on trying to allow our children to have a as normal day as possible."
