"Rangers Tackle Leukemia" Raises About $2,000

The WHS Rangers for a Cure organized Saturday's fundraiser.

Orange T-shirts were seen throughout Westborough High School's Joseph R. Mewhiney Field on Saturday. Both teams' coaches even wore them.

Both the Westborough and Shrewsbury varsity football teams showed their support for the fight against leukemia.

"Rangers Tackle Leukemia" raised about $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, said Elizabeth Gallary, president of the WHS Rangers for a Cure.

The Rangers for a Cure student group sold the T-shirts during the game.

Both teams' coaches, as well as the WHS cheerleaders, also wore the shirts.

Both teams, the Westborough Athletics Boosters Association, and Wegman's, supported the fundraiser, Gallary said.
