Rangers Hoop Teams Open Postseason on Road

The Westborough High School varsity basketball teams' post-season starts this week.

Tuesday, the boys travel to South High in Worcester for a 2013 MIAA Boys Basketball Central Division 1 first round game at 7 p.m., according to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

The winner advances to the quarterfinals against Milford at 7 p.m. Thursday at Milford.

Westborough (11-9) is seeded last in the 11-team tournament. South (14-6) is seeded sixth. Milford (17-3) is seeded third.  

Meanwhile, the WHS girls will play at Holy Name at 7 p.m. Friday in a 2013 MIAA Girls Basketball Central Division 1 quarterfinal.

The winner advances to the semi-finals at 7:30 p.m. March 5 at Clark University. The Westborough-Holy Name winner will play the winner of Friday night's Shepherd Hill-Doherty quarterfinal.

Westborough (10-10) is seeded last in the eight-team tournament. Holy Name (18-2) is seeded first. Shepherd Hill (14-6) is seeded fifth. And Doherty (15-5) is seeded fourth.
