Lizzi to be in Westborough's Thoughts on Thanksgiving

The WHS Student Council will sell Lizzi Marriott bracelets during Thursday's football game.

The Westborough community will have Westborough High School graduate Lizzi Marriott in its thoughts this Thanksgiving.

The Westborough High School Student Council will sell Lizzi Marriott bracelets during Thursday's Thanksgiving Day varsity football game with visiting Algonquin Regional High School, student representative to the school committee Nishant Joshi told the school board Monday night. The proceeds will support the Lizzi Marriott Fund, he said.

Tickets to the game are $10 at the gate. Kickoff is at 10:15 a.m.

It's the latest of many signs of community support for Marriott since the 2011 Westborough High graduate went missing.

According to New Hampshire authorities, Lizzi Marriott, 19, attended a night class at the University of New Hampshire on Oct. 9 before she went to visit a friend in Dover, N.H.

Authorities say that Seth Mazzaglia, 29, of Dover strangled and/or suffocated her inside of his Sawyer Mill apartment. Based on information they received, the Coast Guard and New Hampshire Marine Patrol have been searching the waters around Peirce Island in Portsmouth to recover her body.

Mazzaglia was charged with second degree murder and is being held at the Strafford County Jail in Dover without bail. He is awaiting indictment.
