High School Marching Band Jamboree Regales Crowd

Westborough, Millbury, Westford Academy and Chelmsford participated Saturday.

The Westborough High School Marching Band's renditions of Queen tunes regaled an audience captivated by performances by three other high school marching bands on the Westborough High fooball field Saturday.

At Westborough High's Fifth Annual Marching Band Jamboree, Millbury High's marching band played "Practically Perfect! The Music of Mary Poppins on Broadway," featuring such songs as "A Spoonful of Sugar."

The Westford Academy Grey Ghost Marching Band followed with "The United States of Pop": selections from Rhianna, Lady Gaga and Cee Lo Green.

Chelmsford High's marching band then performed "Walt Disney World Theme Parks' Fantasmic, Wishes and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth."

The Ranger Marching Band wrapped up the afternoon with "The Music of Queen," with music aranged by Evan Cadavieco.

The band was led by Director Matthew Lefebvre and Color Guard Director Mandy Marella.

The group included drum majors Jackie Andrews, Hannah Schur and Michael Ferraro; color guard captains Gabby Foody and Heather Mannarino; drum line captains Michael Damiano and Jeffrey Saltzman; trumpet soloists Nicholas Schur and Greg Waite; and the Killer Trio of Jamie Cerny, Alex DeFiore and Ari Lazarine.
