A teen’s life encompasses a great deal of growth and change and can be a time of great inspiration, excitement, and freedom, as well as a time of great challenge and anxiety. In this experiential, light-hearted series, you will learn about the many benefits of meditation and how to cultivate your own daily practice. You’ll be guided through meditations designed especially for teens and experience mindful communication techniques that you can easily integrate into your daily life. The benefits of meditation and mindfulness based practices are well documented, and new studies are beginning to show that students who meditate.

  • Receive better grades
  • Experience less burn out at school
  • Have happier, more balanced relationships than their non-meditating counterparts

Visit www.Sohum.org   for registration.  $75  for 6 week session.

Lisa Campbell has meditated for twenty years and knows first-hand that meditation is a profound method anyone can learn and use to enhance their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Fifteen years ago Lisa left a high-pressure job to become a Holistic Health Teacher certified by the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. She passionately wanted to share with others how to successfully manage stress, and first on her list was meditation.  Lisa taught stress reduction programs in her community and brought a highly successful meditation program to her next employer.

"My daughter loves the meditation class. She says she hasn't felt this relaxed and "zen" in so long. With all the stresses these kids have esp at this age, it is wonderful that you have created this opportunity for them to find some balance." ~ A Teen's Mom at SOHUM

"As a high school student I signed up for SOHUM meditation classes. I was looking for an opportunity to unwind and remove myself from the daily stresses of life. I received exactly what I was looking for! The instructor was acclimated to the class full of high school students and designed the class to intrigue and capture us into the world of meditation. After each class I find myself calm and relaxed and look forward to the break and rejuvenation that the class offers me. If you are looking to try something new, relax, or simply become in sync with your inner zen, then SOHUM yoga is your next step." AS

•I enjoyed most all things about this class! I really liked the talking exercise we did, as well as the mindful eating. I also really liked all the different breath work we did and stories you told or read to us. •I loved getting to know myself a little better. It taught me that I have the power to step outside of my racing mind whenever I want to •It was a great atmosphere every class. I came in and felt like I could let everything go and be relaxed •It made me learn things about my body in ways that I didn’t know <was> possible •I loved this class. Since it started I have felt all of my worries just lift away and I know that just in one meditation I can just feel completely renewed. I feel more balanced and I have found hope in this practice to help me for the future. •I enjoyed the calm feeling that washed over me every time I came and left each session. ~ Some review from our previous Teen participants
