Westborough Woods Seeks Permit Changes to Comply With State

The Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals will discuss the request at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5.

Westborough Woods' developers have proposed nine changes to its May 21 permit, saying the conditions' language doesn't comply with state Chapter 40B affordable housing requirements.

The Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals will discuss 346 Turnpike LLC's request at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in Forbes Municipal Building Room 24, according to the town's website.

The zoning board granted the 250-unit apartment complex at 346 Turnpike Road (Route 9) a comprehensive permit, and filed it with Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga on May 21.

On July 15, 346 Turnpike LLC consultant Robert Engler of SEB LLC wrote to the board to request the nine changes, which he called "insubstantial."

"Where conditions in a comprehensive permit are inconsistent with the Regulations and/or Guidelines, the Subsidizing Agency will require the inconsistencies to be removed before issuing Final Approval for the project," Engler wrote.
