Westborough Town Clerk Retiring Dec. 31
Nancy Yendriga has worked in the town clerk's office for 20 years, the last 18 as town clerk.
Westborough Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga will retire Dec. 31, ending 20 years in the office: the last 18 as town clerk, and the first two as assistant town clerk.
"It's bittersweet," Yendriga said Monday at her office.
Town officials are advertising for an interim town clerk to serve from Jan. 1 until the March 4 annual town election, when a three-year term as clerk will be on the ballot. Applications are due Dec. 2.
Assistant Town Clerk Wendy Mickel will apply for the interim post, and run for the office, Yendriga said.
Yendriga said she hired Mickel as assistant clerk 18 years ago.
