Westborough Selectmen Name Interim Town Clerk
Assistant Town Clerk Wendy Mickel will serve as interim clerk from Jan. 1 until March 4, the date of the annual town election.
Selectmen have appointed longtime Westborough Assistant Town Clerk Wendy Mickel as interim clerk from Jan. 1 until March 4, the date of the annual town election.
Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga will retire on Dec. 31, ending 20 years in the office: the last 18 as town clerk, and the first two as assistant town clerk.
Yendriga hired Mickel as assistant clerk 18 years ago.

Mickel has taken out nomination papers for a three-year term as clerk, on the March 4 ballot.
She told selectmen Tuesday night that she has been active in Westborough, including serving as the Westborough Food Pantry treasurer for the past 15 years.

"The town means a lot to me, and I'd like to stay and continue and be the town clerk," Mickel said.
