Westborough Recreation Director to Retire

Frank DeSiata has worked for Westborough for 36 years.

Westborough Recreation Director Frank DeSiata will retire on Friday, March 21, ending 36 years of working for the town, Selectman Leigh Emery says.

Emery shared DeSiata's news during Tuesday night's board of selectmen meeting.

"It's going to be hard to fill his shoes with somebody that's as compassionate and understanding and vital as he's been," Emery said.

DeSiata is the latest Westborough department head to announce retirement plans this winter.

School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor will retire this summer. She has spent nearly 35 years in public and private education, including 22 in Westborough.

Director of Public Health Paul McNulty will retire on Feb. 18, ending 34 years of service.

Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga retired on Dec. 31, 2013, ending 20 years in the office: the last 18 as town clerk, and the first two as assistant town clerk.
