Storm Cleanup Costs Westborough Roughly $80,000

Westborough has spent roughly 66 percent of its snow and ice budget this season.

Westborough spent roughly $80,000 of its $454,211 snow and ice budget during last week's storm, Department of Public Works Business Administrator Maria-Elaina Riggieri said Tuesday.

Westborough has spent roughly 66 percent of that budget this season, Riggieri said.

Riggieri said that "it's too early in the season to tell" whether the DPW will need a reserve fund transfer to fund snow and ice-related work.

"This would depend on what 'mother nature' has in store for us," she said.

"If there are no more snow operations then the answer would be no. If there are additional operations required and depending on the size of the storm then the answer would yes."
