State Preparing Online Burial Permit System

Westborough Director of Public Health Paul McNulty and Town Sanitarian Steven Baccari both said they took two burial permit webinars in October.

Handwritten burial permits and death certificates will become a thing of the past in Massachusetts soon.

A new statewide online burial permit system is scheduled to launch in March, Westborough Director of Public Health Paul McNulty said in his October report to the Westborough Board of Health.

McNulty and Town Sanitarian Steven Baccari both said they took two burial permit webinars in October.

  • McNulty said he and Health Inspector Terry Gilchrist held "basically an administrative meeting" with new school Director of Buildings and Grounds George Delegas last month. "We did discuss some of the recurring issues like the operation of the snack bar at the high school," McNulty said.
  • Westborough gave 204 flu shots at its flu clinic at the Westborough Senior Center, he said.
  • McNulty said he and Gilchrist conducted an opening inspection at Gerardo's Bakery.
  • In her October report, Gilchrist said she received plans for Chick-fil-A and for the Fore Golf Entertainment Facility.
  • She also conducted an opening inspection at The Bistro.
  • She also did a routine inspection and re-inspection at Roche Bros. Her inspection identified 45 violations, five of which were critical. "All but three violations were corrected by the re-inspection," she wrote.
  • Gilchrist said she conducted a routine inspection and re-inspection at the Westboro Korean Restaurant. She identified 10 violations, including one critical one, during the inspection. "All violations were corrected by the re-inspection."
