Public Health Director Retiring in February

Town officials are advertising for a new public health director on the Massachusetts Municipal Association's website.

Westborough's first and only public health director will get some rest and relaxation starting in late February.

Director of Public Health Paul McNulty said Thursday he'll retire on Feb. 18, ending 34 years of service.

McNulty said he became Westborough's public health director in 1980, after five-and-a-half years as Acton's sanitarian.

"When I started working, I thought I'd be working until I was 62," said McNulty, who turns 62 in February.

"Plus, it's 40 years."

Applications and resumes should be submitted to Assistant Town Manager Kristi Williams by Jan. 14.

McNulty is the third Westborough department head to announce retirement plans over the past month.

Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga will retire on Dec. 31. School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor will retire at the end of the school year.
