Alleged Shoplifter Took $35 Rum Bottle From Sunshine Liquors

A Southborough man allegedly ran from an East Main Street package store with a $35 bottle of Captain Morgan Rum on Wednesday night before Westborough Police arrested him, Police Chief Alan Gordon said Thursday.

Police charged Nicholas William Michaels, 24, of 9 Nathan Stone Road, Southborough, with shoplifting by asportation, second offense, according to the Westborough Police log.

The incident at Sunshine Liquors, 65 East Main St., was reported at 7:13 p.m., according to the log.

"It was the third such incident at this store in the last month," Gordon said.
 
"From the description of the person in the past incidents, this person was not the same as previously described."
