'Traveling Criminals' Target Westborough Homes

The group was traveling in a blue 2011 Chevy Pickup truck with a Dudley registration, police said.

Some folks going door to door in Westborough and offering a deal on driveway sealant are taking residents for a ride.

Westborough Police warned residents Tuesday that "a group of traveling criminals has been targeting" homes here.

"Last week, they were going door to door claiming they had extra driveway sealant and offered to seal a resident's driveway at a lower price," police said in a press release.

"After starting the job, they claimed they ran out of the sealant, demanding more money to finish the job."

The group was traveling in a blue 2011 Chevy Pickup truck with a Dudley registration, police said.

Residents who are approached by a door to door solicitor without a permit issued by the police are asked to call the police department.
