Teen Allegedly Watched Friend Steal WHS Teacher's GPS

Tyler Carlo was ordered held on $500 bail Tuesday.

A Worcester teenager allegedly told Westborough Police he watched a female friend steal a GPS device from a Westborough High School teacher's truck Monday night, according to Westborough District Court records.

Tyler J. Carlo allegedly then said the thief told him "she was going to sell the GPS unit and would give him some money," court records say.

Carlo, 18, of 70 Bale St., Apt. 1, Worcester was ordered held on $500 bail at his arraignment Tuesday at the courthouse. He faces an Oct. 28 pre-trial hearing.

Westborough Police have charged him with receiving stolen property under $250. They also arrested him on a Plymouth District Court warrant for possession of a Class E drug.

Carlo was walking on Fisher Street, near Maynard Street, around 9:13 a.m. Tuesday when Officer Domenic Annunziata stopped and questioned him, police said in a press release Tuesday.

Annunziata learned that Carlo was wanted in Plymouth District Court. Annunziata brought Carlo to the Westborough Police Station, where police searched Carlo's backpack and allegedly found a GPS stolen from a WHS teacher's truck at the school Monday night.

According to court records, Carlo told police he and his girlfriend went to WHS around 8 p.m. Monday.

There, they met a female friend who "wanted to go car hopping," court records say.

She then walked over to the truck and took the GPS, court records say.
