State Police Continue Looking Into I-495 Crash That Injured Westborough Man

State police aren't identifying him.

State police continue investigating a two-car crash on Interstate 495 in Middleborough that killed a Carver man and injured a Westborough man.

State police said today they're not identifying the 51-year-old Westborough resident because they still looking into the accident.

The man was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with non-life threatening injuries stemming from the 11:10 p.m. Thursday accident on I-495 southbound, north of Exit 2.

The other driver, George Victoria, 50, of Carver was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

As of Friday, Trooper Adam LeBlanc's preliminary investigation indicated that both Victoria and the Westborough man were driving south "when, for reasons still under investigation," the 2004 Ford F-250 driven by Victoria went off the highway and struck a tree, state police said.

The vehicle driven by the Westborough man "as also involved in the crash but it has yet to be determined whether the vehicles collided. What role the second vehicle played in the crash is part of the ongoing investigation," state police said.
