Westborough School Committee Chairman Ilyse Levine-Kanji was arraigned Wednesday on an assault and battery charge stemming from a June 20 incident at Westborough's community pool.
Westborough District Court Judge Vito Virzi ordered Levine-Kanji, 47, of 11 Rocklawn Road, to stay away from the alleged victim. Her attorney, Geoffrey Spofford, noted that the two parties live two houses apart.
Virzi continued the case to Oct. 30.
Levine-Kanji has said that that "my attorney has advised me not to comment, but I regret what happened, and I look forward to telling the whole story in court, if it comes to that."
