Man Arraigned on Child Porn Charges

Joshua Lundberg, a former instructor at Westboro Tennis and Swim Club, was arraigned on charges related to child pornography.

A Northborough resident and former instructor was arraigned on Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court before Judge James Lemire on charges that he possessed and distributed child pornography.

Joshua Lundberg, 28, 19 Cold Harbor Dr., Northborough, was indicted on March 23 by the Worcester County Grand Jury on three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of visual material of a child in sexual conduct.

The charges stemmed from an investigation that started on Oct. 7, when the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit in Worcester was sent peer-to-peer files involving pictures and videos of the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, according to police.

The target internet protocol address led to the Northborough address. On Thursday, Feb. 2, Trooper Patrick McStay was granted a search warrant for the residence. Later that evening, troopers from the SPDU unit, the state police and searched the home.

Lundberg was identified as the person responsible for the possession and dissemination of the pornography and was read his Miranda rights. Lundberg waived his rights, instead agreeing to provide a recording, on which he took full responsibility for downloading child pornography on his laptop, according to police.

Lundberg admitted, according to police, that he saved images and video of child pornography and "actively participated in sharing these files over a peer-to-peer file sharing network." Police said that Lundberg stated that he had exposed his penis to a 20-month-old family member.

Also during the search, detectives and police found a life-like "baby doll" in Lundberg's bedroom next to his bed, as well as 10 assorting fighting knives.

According to the Boston Herald, Lundberg worked part time at the Westborough tennis club, which issued a statement shortly after his indictment that read,  “We are troubled and upset by the allegations against him. There is no evidence or allegation of any misconduct on his part while he was employed."

Lundberg is presently free on bail (posted at $25,000). His case is continued to May 31 for a pretrial hearing.
